Timings Now Available for BLS Gourock Growler Railtour
Timings are now live on Rail Record live train times, for the Gourock Growler Railtour. Branch Line Society tour runs on Saturday 27th April 2019. An extensive trip, the tour features DRS locomotives with coaching stock supplied by Scottish Railway Preservation Society (SRPS).
In summary, the tour features a DRS Class 88 from Crewe to Mossend Yard. Upon arrival at Mossend the Class 88 runs to the rear and 2 x DRS Class 37 attach to the front of the train. This forms the train back to Carlisle, where a Class 88 leads back to Carlisle and Wigan where the train later terminates at Crewe.
Confirmed Traction: 37038 and 37218 are the DRS 37s on this trip, 88 TBC
Consist is 9 Mark 1 Carriages. Paperwork also suggests a DRS class 68 will be assisting until the 37s join the train but we can’t be certain.

The charter will be raising money for Railway Benefit Fund and charities / local causes nominated by DRS. A Buffet Car will serve drinks and light refreshments to standard class passengers. A lunch break of one hour has been requested for Gourock.
