An excellent photographic location, situated approximately 1/2 mile south of Plumpton station. Accessed from a public footpath which runs parallel to the track from alongside from the level crossing. There are two foot crossings, the second 1/4 mile past the first, just keep walking. Superb on sunny days for southbound traffic, but northbound can be washed out by a bright sun. On a number of days two freights within 10 minutes. Acton bound northbound and Newhaven Marine southbound,.

Some distance further south Network Rail have done a lot odd work on the west side of the line which has opened up views of the up line. Particularly good for the Days- Acton which is always plagued by the sun on bright days. However until the lineside vegetation re- grows the northbound trains will be in full sun on a bright day.
Nice shots, got 59206 there as you saw from me on Facebook.
